Today is the World Day of Social Justice, a day dedicated to promoting and upholding the principles of justice and fairness throughout the world.‍ As a team of nearly 100 driven individuals who are creating a better future through innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology, this day is an opportunity for us to reflect on our role in creating a more just society.

Today we’re announcing our Series A round and committing to starting a compensation-revolution in yet another European market: the Italian one.

Despite the uncertainty, we have transformed. In a year of ups and downs, we were flexible. And in 2022, we improved.

It is often said that our lives and the relationships we build can be forever marked by first impressions. The first day of school. The first solo trip. The first job interview. The first salary. The first child. In my case, a second and a third, all unique and unrepeatable, each experienced for the first time. Every new professional challenge is a fresh start, with many first impressions to be created. With co-workers, but also with customers and partners.

In the first part of this mini series I spoke about how I got started in open source and what I get out of it. In this post I’ll be talking about the challenges. In some cases it’s not necessarily specific to open source and in others it might be specific to me or the projects I work on.

June brings us the Pride commemorations of many decades of struggle for civil rights and equality for the LGBTQIA+ community. In Portugal, it is the month for Arraial Pride, the "biggest communitarian and associative LGBTI+ event in Portugal that brings visibility to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex population in a political moment of Pride celebration in the biggest square in Lisbon" (ILGA).‍

I've been working on open source projects for the past few years, most of that time spent working on Storybook for React Native. I'd like to share a bit about my experience, why I continue with it and some of the things I learnt along the way.

It’s been impossible to stay indifferent to what is happening in Ukraine (and beyond) to millions of people, in a reality that is so close to ours. We knew that there was something we could do, within our limited possibilities, to help — and so, we decided to do it.
